In 2017 the Deniliquin Community Group donated $40,000 to the Deniliquin Sports Park to enable further funding to be accesssed. This resulted in the Stadium receiving $1,500,000 for upgrades and expansion.
After a long process of further grant applications and negotiation follwoed by tenders and further negotiation a third court is being added in addition to replacement of the entire floor surface.
The upgraded and improved Deniliquin Regional Sports and Entertainment Stadium was (re) opened on Monday, February 17th 2020 with a ceremony attended by more than 150 people.
Deniliquin Sports Park Incorporated President Craig Druitt cut the ribbon at the ceremony. This was followed by demonstration and participation in a variety of sports and activities that the Stadium provides for.
With an extra court increasing the available space Indoor Cricket, Basketball, Gymnastics and Lifeball were played at the same time. Badminton, Cheerleading, Indoor Netball and other sports will also benefit from the upgrade to the courts.
