Deniliquin Boat Club - Ski School


The Deniliquin Boat Club was first formed in 1946 with a Ski School starting in the early 1970's - over 40 years ago.

The Ski School currently runs Wednesday and Friday nights during warmer months with up to 40 kids attending and learning water safety as well as skiing.

This years grant is part payment for a boat to assist in the ski school. Most of the price was made up by the club and other donations.

Deniliquin Community Garden - Deni Den Door


The Deniliquin Community Garden Inc was formed in 2006. ERC land, donations of compost, wood chips, straw from local businesses.

Work with Intereach Ability Links program.

The group currently holds meetings in an old, dark and somewhat scary container.

This grant will add a sliding glass door to the newly cleaned and painted shipping container creating the 'Den'.

The Den will be used for members and visitors during inclement weather and as an office space for storage of seeds, records and a gardening library.

Country Womens Assocation / Boobook - Kitchen Floor


The Deniliquin Country Womens Association building was established in 1932 on the corner of Edward and Harrison Streets in Denilquin.

The CWA / Boobook members offer a range of activities for all ages including arts and crafts and cooking classes.

The Deniliquin Community Group funds will replace the vinyl flooring in the kitchen area.

Deniliquin High School P&C - Canteen Freezer


The Canteen at the Deniliquin High School feeds up to 550 students 5 days a week.

In accordance with updated NSW government requirements for healthy food the canteen staff need to prepare more food 'in house'. This will require more storage for ingredients.

A new freezer funded by the Deniliquin Community Group will assist the staff to increase the healthy food and drink options and combat childhood obesity

Deniliquin North Public School P&C - Playground Improvements



Deniliqun North Public School will improve it's existing playground infrastructure by adding a Mud (outdoor) Kitchen for Kinder to Year 2 students and Excercise Stations for Years 3-6.

Age appropriate play spaces help students to build confidence while interacting with peers.

The Mud Kitchen will encourage creative play and assist new students transitioning to the school environment and the excercise stations will improve student health and wellbeing.

Deniliquin Sporting Car Club - Street Course Improvements


The Deniliquin Sporting Car Club has been a part of the Deniliquin High School Driver Education Program for many years. The club offers practical experience for students on the track, a dedicated street course and a simulated carpark where many traffic cones are run over by students.

Students negotiate corners, a roundabout, hills and other vehicles under the instruction of volunteers.

The street signs and posts will be upgraded this year to provide a realistic appearance.

Deniliquin South School P&C - Playground Shade Structure


Deniliquin South Public School has been educating our kids since 1956 and has over 250 students this year.

Recently installed palyground equipment requires some cover and protection from the sun and rain.

A sunsafe weatherproof shelter would enable year round use of the playground by students and enable participation in the NSW Government Share Our Space project which opens School grounds to the public outside of school hours.

Edward River Arts Society - 2 Day workshop


The Edward River Arts Society aims to promote and support visual and creative arts in our region. The group is involved in a number of art projects in the local area.

This year Edward River Arts Society will host an Art Workshop with regional artist Ann Rayment of Leeton. The workshop will stimulate creativity and teach artistic skills in a program not normally available in rural areas.

The workshop will be available to people across neighbouring areas such as Finley, Berrigan, Tocumwal, Hay and Moulamein.

Deniliquin Girl Guides - Hall Upgrades


Girl Guides teaches life skills, reinforces the values of honesty and integrity and helps to build confidence, self-esteem and leadership skill through a variety of outdoor adventures, creative endeavours and recreational activities.

The Deniliquin Girl Guide Hall was built in the 80's and is due for some improvement.

Since the initial construction some building standards have changed so the external switchboard no longer complies and will be replaced. The old heaters will also be removed and a new split-system Air Conditioner added.

Deniliquin Gymnastics & Cheerleading - Cheerleading Uniforms


The Deniliquin Gymanstics Club has expanded and obtained certification for Cheerleading classes.

Cheerleading has been running since the start of the year and now has more than 20 members.

Competition is the new focus of the group and appearance counts in cheerleading. New uniforms will improve the success of the club at competitions and help with the clubs growth as well.

Deniliquin Outdoor Pools - Lifeguard Uniforms


Deniliquin Outdoor Pools has been operating the Deniliquin Swim Centre on behalf of Edward River Council for nearly six years.

Uniforms are provided for the Life Guards but tehy have alimited life. Sun and chlorine take their toll.

Funding from the Deniliquin Community Group will provide new uniforms expected to last teh next 5 years.

Deniliquin Rodeo Club - Clubroom Restoration


The Deniliquin Rodeo Committee clubrooms are suffering from the effects of white-ants.

Steel frames will be used in replacing the old walls to provide a safe and comfortable environment.

Deniliquin Drovers Rugby Union - Home Game Catering Kit


Deniliquin Drovers Rugby Club have been catering their home games relying on members to bring equipment with them.

The Deniliquin Community Group will fund a Catering kit consisting of a BBQ, gazebo, tables, esky and more so the club can provide for games.

Deniliquin VRA Search & Rescue - Rapid Intervention


Deniliquin Search & Rescue Squad is a volunteer organisation affiliated with NSW Volunteer Rescue Association providing Primary Emergency Response for the community.

In order to efficient and effective an upgrade to the jaws of Life is necessary. The Deniliquin Community Group is proud to assist in the purchase of a lightweight Halmatro Evo 3 Cordless Combi Tool. Time is often critical when this equipment is needed.
